Full day escorted excursion
(Duration 9 hours)

Kalymnos is the island of sponge divers. The island is ideal for visitors looking for an off-the-beaten-path experience holiday close to the nature and to simple, hospitable people. The island’s capital, Kalymnos or Pothia, is on the north side of the island. It was built in 1850 after the former capital, Horio, was abandoned. Finds from excavations indicate that Kalymnos has been settled since antiquity. The town is perched on a hill. On the top of the hill, the famous Castle of Chryssohera (The Castle of Our Lady with the Golden Hands), with the church of the same name, dominates the area. In the heart of the town there are notable churches, such as Christ the Saviour and Christ of Jerusalem, and there are also traditional workshops displaying the sponge-making process.
The port, Kalymnos or Pothia hosts an archaeological museum where collections testify the island’s long history is shown. Close by, is the Nymphs Cave, where, according to legend, seven young girls hid to avoid captivity by pirates.

Pserimos Island, it’s a tinny fishing Island with a charming beach and has a small number of souvenir store as well as typical tavern. Luckily this Island offer a best sandy beach place to relax or enjoying swim under the sunshine.
